NEW YORK YANKEES @ CHICAGO WHITE SOX – 5:10pm
The Yankees are in Chicago to kickoff their final 3 game series of the season against the White Sox. The Yankees are 3-0 against the White Sox this season and have a 2-3 record in their last 5 games. Meanwhile the White Sox are 1-4 in their last 5 games and are essentially the punching bag of MLB. Although it would be a bit more reassuring as a bettor to see the Yankees come into this matchup with more wins under their belt in the last week, this White Sox team is so historically bad that you can still feel confident backing the Yankees to get the win tonight. The White Sox have lost 71% of home games this year (17-49 record) and 81% of all away games (11-49 record). They have 43 games remaining on their schedule which provides plenty of opportunity to profit off the books between now and the end of the season. A play on the Yankees run line tonight is a smart move but at the very least look for the Yankees to win the game and go undefeated in this matchup over the next few days.
The Pick: New York Yankees Moneyline
COLORADO ROCKIES @ ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS – 6:40PM
The Colorado Rockies are in Phoenix to take on the red hot Arizona Diamondbacks in a 3 game series starting tonight. The Rockies are 5-5 so far this month winning 2 out of their last 3 games at home against the Atlanta Braves. The Diamondbacks are 8-2 in August coming off a huge 3-1 series victory over the National League leading Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend. In the 7 games these two teams have played together this year the Dbacks lead the season series 5-2. Dbacks hitters in particular have been on a roll lately putting up 30 runs in their last 4 games going up against arguably the best pitching rotation in the league. The Dbacks best hitter and MVP candidate Ketel Marte played sparingly against Philadelphia (partially due to a very dirty slide at second from Phillies catcher Garrett Stubbs on Saturday that took Marte out of the game) and they still dominated the series. Luckily Marte is okay and set to rejoin the lineup tonight against the Rockies which spells trouble for Colorado. As of now there appears to be some uncertainty regarding who will be the starting pitcher for the Rockies. It looked like Cal Quantril was set to start but there have been some conflicting news reports saying he is dealing with arm soreness and will not play in the game. FanDuel had him slated to start last night but as of right now the Rockies starting pitcher is listed as “TBD”. Quantril is one of the more capable starting pitchers in what is largely considered one of the worst pitching rotations in baseball so a downgrade at pitcher for the Rockies goes a long way for the Dbacks. Meanwhile the Dbacks have their best ace Brandon Pfaadt ready to go tonight and the Dbacks are 7-1 over his last 8 starts going back to June 25th. Look to capitalize on the Dbacks momentum heading into this matchup. Bets on the Dbacks moneyline and runline are great bets to consider. The Diamondbacks have scored 6 or more runs in 6 out of the 10 games they have played so far in August. They had 11 runs on Saturday and 12 on Sunday and should be in a position to continue to score going up against a lesser pitching rotation than what they just faced. The line on the Dbacks total runs currently sits at 5.5 leaning under and this is where we can look to turn a profit.
