CHICAGO WHITE SOX @ OAKLAND ATHLETICS – TONIGHT AT 6:40PM
The Chicago White Sox bring their league leading 20 game losing streak to Oakland in what will be the first matchup between these two teams all season. The White Sox continue to feature the worst road record in all of Major League Baseball with 10 wins and 47 losses while playing in away games this year. They plan to debut a brand new pitcher with Ky Bush poised to get his first major league start ever tonight against the Athletics. Meanwhile the A’s are coming off losing 2 out of their last 3 games to the Dodgers but they had the 3rd best record in baseball in July at 15-9 and they will be looking to get back in the winning column. The A’s have JP Sears starting tonight and they have won 5 out of the last 6 games that Sears has started going back to June 28th. Counting on the Whitesox to lose again tonight is going to be the way to go. You can look to play the run line to get a bigger payout if you prefer. With the trouble the Whitesox have had winning road games all season it’s about time we hopped on this bandwagon with A’s Moneyline.

OLYMPICS MEN’S BASKETBALL QUARTERFINALS – 8/6
CANADA VS. FRANCE – 9:00AM
The stakes can’t be any higher when Canada takes on team France tomorrow morning in a quarterfinal elimination game. Both teams carried Gold Medal aspirations into this Olympics and have each disappointed to some extent. France comes into this game after taking a beating against Germany last Friday losing by 14 points in a game where they trailed by more than 20 points at times and looked their most vulnerable. Canada brings an undefeated record into this game with lackluster performances against Spain and Greece where they failed to cover the pre game point spread in each game and their lower point differential helped Germany leapfrog them and claim a top 2 seed heading into the Quarterfinal round. Canada has struggled defending opposing big men so far in this tournament giving up 34 points to Giannis Antetokounmpo against Greece, 16 points to Jock Landale on Australia, and 10 points each to Spanish centers Jaime Pradilla and Willy Hernangomez. That is not a good weakness to carry into this matchup as France has 2 of the best centers in the world in their starting lineup although neither seem to have played to their potential so far in the Olympics. Canada is currently sitting as a 7.5 point favorite on the point spread. Considering the struggles they have showed with covering spreads along with containing opposing centers I am expecting this game to be much closer than a 3 possession margin. There is also some value in betting on Victor Wembanyama to score. Look for Wemby to turn things around on the offensive end considering he has not scored 20 or more points yet in the Olympics. France can cover the 7.5 point spread and very well win this game if their star centers rise to the occasion.
The pick: France +7.5 Spread
