CINCINNATI REDS @ ATLANTA BRAVES – 3:40PM

The Braves are at home today to face the Reds in a single makeup game for a matchup that was supposed to happen back in July but was postponed due to weather. Playing at home in Truist Park gives the Braves a leg up given that they have a 40-30 record this season in home games. On the mound, Charlie Morton has been in solid form recently, delivering key strikeouts and keeping hard contact to a minimum against opposing hitters. Meanwhile, Nick Martinez, who will start for the Reds, has been inconsistent and is vulnerable this season. Expect him to struggle with some of the power that the Braves feature in their lineup as players like Matt Olson and Marcell Ozuna have a good track record of getting extra base hits off Martinez. With the Braves looking to avoid a season series sweep and having the edge with their starting pitcher and home-field advantage, they will be poised to get their first win against the Reds this season. Look to take the Braves on the moneyline in this game.

The Pick: Atlanta Braves Moneyline

NEW YORK JETS @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS – 5:15pm

In the finale of Week 1 for the NFL, the New York Jets take on the San Francisco 49ers in a highly anticipated matchup between two of the league’s most elite defenses. The 49ers boast one of the most well-rounded teams in the league, excelling on both sides of the ball. Their dominant defense, led by Nick Bosa, will be a tough challenge for the Jets offense that is eager to prove themselves in front of a nation wide prime time audience with a healthy Aaron Rodgers. How long Rodger’s health will last is of course the biggest question for the Jets as his season ending week 1 injury last year was the difference between the Jets being a Super Bowl contender and just being absolutely mediocre at best. San Francisco’s offense, spearheaded by their efficient running game and dynamic playmakers, has the firepower to overwhelm any defense. Additionally, playing at home in front of their fans gives the 49ers an added boost, especially in prime time matchups. Given the 49ers’ superior talent, home-field advantage, and the Jets question marks on offense, backing San Francisco to come out on top is the smart move.

The Pick: San Francisco 49ers Moneyline
