BALTIMORE ORIOLES @ NEW YORK YANKEES – 4:05PM

The Yankees and Orioles play their final game against each other this season tonight in New York and the stakes in this one are high. The Orioles have defeated the Yankees the last two nights to preserve their chance to win the AL East Division and will need to complete the sweep to keep those hopes alive. With the AL East title within reach, the Yankees will lean on their ace, Gerrit Cole, who’s largely been the best pitcher in their rotation this season. Cole has a solid track record against the Orioles only allowing 3 runs through 2 games played against them so far this season. His ability to shut down opposing lineups will be crucial in this game. Orioles starting pitcher Corbin Burnes has been excellent in September only allowing 3 earned runs through 4 starts but those were all against teams in the bottom third of Major League Baseball in RBI’s, runs scored, and hits over the course of the entire regular season as well as the last 30 days. When Burnes matches up against elite hitting teams his numbers are significantly worse (look at his stats from his last 3 games in August against top 10 hitting teams in baseball which resulted in Orioles losses). AI is recommending a 66% likelihood that the Yankees win the game outright while Sporttrade currently has them priced at -160 odds which equates to about 61% implied probability. Take advantage of the value on the Yankees Moneyline as Burnes is likely to struggle against an elite hitting team.

The Pick: New York Yankees Moneyline

DALLAS COWBOYS @ NEW YORK GIANTS – 5:15PM

The Cowboys travel to New York to take on the Giants in a clash of NFC East Division foes. The loser of this matchup will be firmly in last place in the division as both of these teams come into this game with the same 1-2 record but both also have very differing circumstances. The Cowboys find themselves in an unfamiliar place playing below expectations as they are coming off back to back home losses to the Ravens and Saints. In recent years past, they typically have a winning record coming into week 4. Meanwhile the Giants are riding high after a road win against the Browns last week where they played far above expectations and now they bring strong momentum into a prime time home matchup against one of their biggest rivals. While the Cowboys may have some serious problems containing Devin Singletary and the Giants rushing offense, this will arguably be the most talented wide receiver and quarterback duo that the Giants defense will face so far this season and that is where AI likes the Cowboys having the edge in this game.  The Giants have shown early-season vulnerabilities in their secondary, particularly struggling to contain the Vikings passing offense in Week 1 with a brand new QB in Sam Darnold playing his first game ever with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Now going up against a very potent and experienced connection between Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, who have consistently dominated this rivalry, the Giants are likely to have a tough time keeping up. Prescott has a long history of success against New York, and with Lamb’s ability to create mismatches downfield, Dallas should have little trouble moving the ball through the air. Add in the Giants’ offensive inconsistencies through the first 3 games played so far, and the Cowboys are well-positioned to win by at least a touchdown, making the spread a valuable bet. AI is suggesting a 57% likelihood of the Cowboys winning by 6 or more points while Sporttrade currently has the Cowboys -5.5 spread priced at +100 which equates to 50% implied probability.
