MILWAUKEE BREWERS @ ST. LOUIS CARDINALS – 4:45PM
The Brewers take on the Cardinals later today in the 2nd game of their 3 game series in St. Louis. The Brewers won a close matchup last night 3-2 after the Cardinals could not manage to score with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th. As of the time that I am writing this the Brewers are priced as an underdog again today (-102 on FanDuel) and this looks to be another mispriced line we can exploit. After the win last night, the Brewers are now 7-1 against the Cardinals this season. The Brewers will be going with starting pitcher Tobias Myers tonight while the Cardinals will have Kyle Gibson on the mound. Oddsmakers must be thinking the pitching matchup is favoring the Cardinals like yesterday and again I think there’s a case to be made that the Brewers actually have the upper hand. The Brewers have won 3 out of the last 4 games Myers has started going back to July 28th. Myers has allowed only 4 earned runs over that 4 game stretch. In one previous appearance against the Cardinals on May 9th he pitched for 4 innings in a 7-1 win where he only allowed 3 hits and 1 earned run. The Cardinals have lost 3 out of their last 4 games that Gibson has started and he has allowed 14 earned runs total over those games. In 2 previous starts Gibson had against the Brewers this season the Cardinals lost both games. With the Brewers priced so close to even money as the underdog in this matchup there’s just too much value here again to ignore on the moneyline. Look for the Brewers to extend their winning streak tonight against a team they have dominated all season long.
The Pick: Brewers Moneyline
MINNESOTA LYNX @ LAS VEGAS ACES – 6:30PM
The Lynx are in Vegas to take on the Aces tonight in a prime time matchup that will be televised on ESPN. These teams are neck and neck in the Western Conference Standings with the Lynx 1.5 games ahead of the Aces for first place. The Aces and Lynx have played each other twice already this season with each team getting a win on the road so far in the matchup. Rather than betting on who wins or what the spread will be this should be a good game to utilize player prop bets. The Aces are led by WNBA MVP favorite A’ja Wilson and she has been a constant source of offense scoring 28 or more points each time these teams have played this season. She currently leads the WNBA in scoring with an average of 27.3 points per game; the next closest person is averaging over 4 points less than that. In the two games she has played since the Olympics break she scored 24 points against the Liberty (best team in the league with 2 forward/centers in their starting five) and 34 points against the Sparks. Her line on points tonight is currently priced at 26.5 leaning under. Taking her track record of scoring against the Lynx this season into consideration, betting on the over on this line is a good prop bet to play. To be a bit more conservative we will look to bet on her to score at least 25 or more points in the game.
The Pick: A’ja Wilson to score 25+ points
